Inspirations

Vedauwoo is a park in southern Wyoming known for the unique rock formations which rise abruptly from the high plains between Laramie and Cheyenne. Known for climbing, hiking, and outdoor sport, the name means "Garden of the Earth." Our brand is inspired by the place - but spelled differently as a show of respect to all who have loved it.

Beginnings

Scott Hunter (Founder) is from Casper, Wyoming. He fell in love early with outdoor adventure, heavily influenced by his time in Scouting, and with a family that loved camping and fishing. After recognizing a steady decline in the quality of goods available for these persuits, he committed to building a company focused on American-Made, quality-first, packs.

Handbuilt Roots

A timely conversation with Patagonia founder Yvon Chouinard defined the future: "If you can't build something with your own hands, you have no business being in business." Scott used his last $700 to buy a sewing machine, materials, and a year's worth of website service, and (with a $12 safety net) learned how to design and build gear in his garage.
