Vedavoo was literally founded and built in my garage, and I still design and build the bulk of our packs in a small, local workshop. This trail isn’t for everyone – but it’s ours, and the inspiration behind the “Gear for the Road Less Traveled” motto.
I’m a Wyoming native. I grew up fishing, hiking, backpacking and camping with my family and friends in the Boy Scouts and Order of the Arrow. To say my work is inspired by my own experience would be a big understatement. I used gear – had real frustrations – and had ideas for how to fix them. Vedavoo became the place to turn those ideas into something real.
Unfortunately, I didn’t know the first thing about sewing.
I bought a classic sailmaking machine on Craigslist, and taught myself how to build packs. In the beginning, everything was made to fill custom orders for hikers, climbers and anglers – they were few, but at the heart of helping me learn my craft. The packs and bags available today are the product of those efforts, and all the hours of design and refinement since then.
It’s hard work – but it’s good and fulfilling; I build packs that people can carry for years to come, and I’m damn proud of that.
Please share our story… tell us your ideas… and pick up one of our packs for your own adventures on the road less traveled. It all makes a difference. If you’d like to get started, I’d be happy to send you a few stickers for your car window, laptop, water bottle, etc. – just drop me an line with your mailing address here.
Thanks for taking time to read about the V, and your support.
